Conner Purzycki’s 2/11/13 DLR Photo Report
I took a quick trip to the Disneyland Resort today and captured a few photos from both Downtown Disney and Disney California Adventure.

Video: New Instant Concert!… Just Add Water With Main Street Electrical Parade Music
Watch as Paradise Bay comes to life with the symphonic sounds of the Main Street Electrical Parade’s Baroque Hoedown. It appears that the show can do a different set of songs when Maestro Goofy is unavailable to conduct the fountains.
The music is from an album recored by The Cincinnati Pops called Disney Spectacular.

Video: Annual Passholders Glow With The Show
Last month, Annual Passholders were invited to attend an after hours event to introduce the Glow with the Show mouse ears. For the past three days, thousands of passholders were given free ears and a private showing of World of Color. DLNT Reporter Max Guggenheim was at one of these parties and got a really awesome multi-angle video of the show and the ears. Enjoy.

Guests Can “Glow With Show” With New Interactive Ear Hats
From Erin Glover on the Disney Parks Blog:
tarting June 15, Disney California Adventurepark guests will have the chance to light up the night when Glow with the Show Ears become available for purchase at select locations throughout the park.
For more than 55 years, the classic, black Mickey Mouse ear hat has been a Disney Parks guest favorite. In 2005, those ears got a golden touch to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Disneyland park, and there have been more than 200 different ear hats including limited-edition and novelty ear hats. Now, using the latest interactive technology, our newest ear hats will quite literally let you “Glow with the Show.” Watch as the iridescent ears change to complement and harmonize with what’s happening around you, allowing you to become a part of the magic of our nighttime spectaculars, such as “World of Color” and Mad T Party. But that’s not all – there are lots of surprises in store when you visit Disney California Adventure park with Glow with the Show Ears, so I’ll let you discover them for yourself!
Here’s a peek at what the new Glow with the Show Ears will look like:
“Glow with the Show now lets our guests become part of the color of our magical ‘World of Color’ at the Paradise Bay lagoon,” describes Steve Davison, Creative Entertainment Vice President of Parades & Spectaculars. “Throughout the show, the Glow with the Show Ears become a set of pixels that dance and play along with each sequence in ‘World of Color’ in a bright and dynamic way. For example, during the show, guests become part of the ocean with the Little Mermaid, a shining galaxy of stars for WALL-E and Eve, an extension of the Genie’s magic in ‘Friend Like Me,’ among other interactive explosions of color throughout the entire show. It truly brings the show’s environment out of the lagoon and into the audience in an amazing and dazzling new way!” Are you planning to “Glow with the Show” on your next visit to Disney California Adventure park?
This is an interesting concept that has actually been tried before with The Magical Moments promotion in Florida. Guests could buy pins that would light up when you walked past certain buildings in the parks, watched parades, or even went in to certain attractions. For example, on Tower of Terror in the hallway scene, when the walls turned into a star field, your pin would light up as well.
Are You “Brave” Enough For World of Color?
From Shawn Slater on the Disney Parks Blog:
This time next month, all the new entertainment and attractions at Disney California Adventure park will be open for you to enjoy. I, for one, can’t wait to see everything. June 15 will be a full day of memorable experiences, capped off with the stunning “World of Color” nighttime spectacular!
Since “World of Color” made its debut back in 2010, the show has featured occasional updates and surprises, delighting audiences with forays into new worlds ranging from “TRON: Legacy” to “Prep & Landing.” Just in time for one of the biggest summers in Disney California Adventure park history, “World of Color” is set to introduce another new sequence, inspired by the Disney•Pixar film “Brave.”
Set to “Brave” composer Patrick Doyle’s stirring Scottish score, the sequence introduces us to the film’s adventurous heroine Merida, as she races across the Scottish Highlands, bow and arrow in hand, on her faithful horse Angus, and follows the mysterious will o’ the wisps on an epic journey to change her fate. “Brave” opens in theaters June 22, but you’ll be able to catch the “Brave”-inspired sequence in “World of Color” starting June 15.
Daytime Fountain Show Coming To Paradise Bay????
Adding to the massive list of new attractions and offerings coming to the Disneyland Resort on June 15th, something interesting appeared on the Disneyland calender. A new show Called Melody Time is taking place in Paradise Bay every hour 5 times a day from 11:00 to 4:00. PhineasTheHitchhikingGhost grabbed a pic before Disney pulled it down.

While the show may just be using the name, we are not sure if the show will utilize music from Melody Time. Daytime fountains have been tried before with Disney Channel Rocks! The show has failed but I always thought the daytime fountains was a neat feature.
Stay tuned to DLNT as more on this story becomes available.

World of Color NYE
Happy New Year everybody!!! Just got back from a few days at the Disneyland Resort, so I will start getting everybody caught up on the latest news from the Disneyland Resort. Starting off with a front a center video of the midnight showing of World of Color with the special new years tag at the beginning. It was a very foggy night in Anaheim so about halfway through the show, the fog and the smoke from the fireworks pretty much make the show invisible. Still fun to watch. Enjoy.
